What is SnappBattTM ?

SnappBattTM is a rot-resistant plastic shim-retainer that snaps onto the tile, elevates the tile off the deck approximately 3/8" and then the standard nail is fastened through the SnappBattTM and tile as typical.

Why do I want SnappBattTM ?

SnappBattTM will replace the old traditional, expensive and time consuming batten and lath systems that are currently being used.  After many years of product design and testing, we are ready to release this new product that we believe will revolutionize the installation of concrete and clay tile roofs.  The flow through design allows for cooler roofs and significantly less trapped debris.  Without the need to install lath or battens, the time saved will be immense.

Is it true SnappBattTM can be used in a Random-Staggered™ pattern?

Yes, up to 7:12, the tiles can be installed in a Random-Staggered™ pattern.  The layout exposure would be reduced to accommodate the amount of stagger (typically ½” – 1 ½” reduction).  The tiles then would be installed in a Random-Staggered™ pattern on and above the chalk-line (based on exposure) as desired. This would create a truly random layout.

SnappBattcan also be used with a standard batten & lath (3/8” thick lath) or elevated system that uses 3/8” shims. As above, the layout exposure would be reduced to accommodate the amount of stagger (typically ½” – 1 ½” reduction). The SnappBattwould be installed on the tiles that will be Random-Staggered™ installed above the batten-line to create a truly random layout.  One SnappBatt  shall be used up to 7:12 and two SnappBattabove 7:12 installations.
